The County of Washington, Virginia is seeking sealed Bids for the replacement of the interior and exterior concrete slab at the transfer station located at 14579 Industrial Park Road, Bristol, Virginia 24202.  An Invitation for Bids packet (Bidding Documents) containing instructions, qualifications, and specifications may be obtained by contacting the Issuing Office, The Lane Group, Inc., 310 West Valley Street NW, Abingdon, Virginia 24210; phone 276-206-8571, or email, wrobinson@thelanegroupinc.com.  Prospective bidders may obtain the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Prospective bidders may examine copies of the Bidding Documents providing by the Issuing Office at the locations identified below:

Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above.  Contractors have the option of receiving a set of Bidding Documents (PDF Format) at no charge, or a hard copy set of Bidding Documents upon payment of $100 (non-refundable) for each set.  Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to The Lane Group, Inc.  Upon request and receipt of the document fee, indicated above, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service.  The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of Bidding Documents.  Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office.  Neither the County nor Architect will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office and the County.         

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on July 9, 2024 at 10:00 am in the Board of Supervisor’s Auditorium, 1 Government Center Place, Suite A, Abingdon, Virginia 24210.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., on August 1, 2024.  Bids must be made using specified bid forms, and may be mailed or delivered to Tammy Sturgill, Director; Department of Budget & Finance, Washington County Government Center, 1 Government Center Place, Suite A, Abingdon, Virginia 24210.  Bids received after the deadline, postmarks notwithstanding, shall be rejected.  The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or waive any informality in the bidding. A public bid opening will be held in the Board of Supervisor’s Auditorium, 1 Government Center Place, Abingdon, Virginia 24210, at 2:00 p.m., August 1, 2024, or as soon thereafter as may be held.
